Pennsylvania takes a new approach to managing turkeys

The belief that turkey populations were in decline in parts of Pennsylvania wasn’t entirely accurate, and the population in terms of long-term trends is actually doing better than previously thought, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
During staff presentations to the board of commissioners on Jan. 27, Game Bird Section Supervisor Ken Duren said new data shows that turkey populations over most of the state are stable or increasing.
