Dave Clausen, a Natural Resources Board (NRB) member from May 2006 to May 2013, describes new NRB Chairman Bill Smith with one word – integrity.
Smith, of Shell Lake, was elected NRB chair at the Jan. 25 meeting. He was appointed to the board by Gov. Tony Evers in May 2019, with his term ending May 2025. The NRB sets policy for the DNR and approves hunting, trapping, and fishing rules, and environmental standards.
