Big Trout Lake a ‘different world’ in Minnesota’s Crow Wing County

There are a dozen lakes that make up Crow Wing County’s popular Whitefish Chain of Lakes, and none is more unique than Big Trout Lake.
This 1,366-acre fishery is the northernmost basin in the system and is connected by a short channel to Lower Whitefish Lake. Big Trout is also the deepest lake – an extremely clear body of water, with clarity that’s normally no less than 13 feet.
