A mass marking program shines light on salmon movement in Great Lakes

Tracking Chinook movement is one aspect of an ongoing Great Lakes mass marking program done cooperatively with almost a dozen state and federal agencies across five states. There are up to 20 people working on lakes Huron and Michigan gathering samples during the open-water fishing season.
Chuck Bronte, fisheries biologist with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Green Bay Fish and Wildlife Conservation office, discussed program findings during the recent Lake Michigan Ludington Regional Workshop.
