“We started with seven kids and one bow,” remembered Jim Moyer. “Our target was a cardboard box on a hillside behind the school.”
Moyer, the coach for the New Lexington Archery team in Ohio, smiled as he recalled the humble beginnings of the school’s archery program.
On Feb. 18, New Lexington Middle School hosted a fun shoot that saw 280 young archers from across 12 school districts, one church, and a group of homeschooled students do their best from 10 and 15 meters.
