It’s easy to overlook the North Branch of Callicoon Creek, given its location in the heart of what’s generally regarded as the birthplace of fly-fishing.

After all, not far away – in fact, just up the road a bit – are the fabled waters of the Beaverkill and Willowemoc, streams to which scores of anglers make annual pilgrimages for both serious and ceremonial casts.
