Successful trolling for walleye is an exercise in efficiency. The more efficient anglers are at keeping the maximum number of lures in front of the fish, the more success they will have.
During a recent Michigan DNR walleye fishing school on Saginaw Bay, walleye fishing guru and Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame member Mark Martin put on a clinic in efficiency by teaching students an often-overlooked trolling method: running crankbaits behind lead-core line.
