A recent issue triggered some reflective thinking by this old, retired federal auditor. The front-page article headlined,“Bill Would Give PGC License Fee Power,” made me wonder why is there any need?
Why would any legislative body give fee increases to any agency under legislative review? Where does “checks and balances” begin or end? Where is any oversight from the people?
