Spirit Lake man identified as victim of Saturday’s hunting incident at Iowa wildlife area

Joseph Salmon, 18, of Spirit Lake, Iowa, was injured Saturday morning while waterfowl hunting along the shore of a slough at the Spring Run Wildlife Area, in Dickinson County.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a gunshot injury around 8:17 a.m., on Oct. 21. Salmon was located, then airlifted to Avera Medical Center, in Sioux Falls, S.D., where his condition remains unknown.
