The purchase of a 65-acre tract in north-central Iowa will add opportunities for outdoor recreation enthusiasts on land bordering the east fork of the Des Moines River.
Last week, the Iowa Natural Resources Commission approved the purchase of the parcel from the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF) at a cost of $248,100. The irregularly-shaped tract, located in Humboldt County, includes timber and grassland. It is accessible on the west by a county road.
