It is common knowledge among deer hunters that whitetail movement is largely driven by food.
Therefore, acorns make up a large part of the whitetail diet. To learn more about acorn production and how it affects deer behavior, University of Florida researcher Kelsey Demeny undertook a two-year study of oak trees to determine which oaks produced the most mast and how whitetails behaved around them.
