Lawsuit filed against Michigan DNR to allow drone use in recovery of deer

An Ohio-based drone company is suing the Michigan DNR over its interpretation of state law that officials claim prohibits drone use to recover downed deer.
Drone Deer Recovery filed a federal civil rights lawsuit over a state law enacted in 2015 that bans drone use in the “taking” of an animal. The same law bans drone use to harass hunters, as well.
“Ultimately, this is a First Amendment free speech case,” Andrew Quinio, attorney with the Pacific Legal Foundation, told Michigan Outdoor News.
