A contract was unanimously approved on Tuesday by the Iowa Environmental Protection Commission aimed at reducing sediment pollution into one of the state's top trout fisheries as well as the watershed for the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery.
The three-year agreement with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) provides administrative support and practical measures with the goal of curbing runoff to Siewers Spring, which feeds the Decorah trout hatchery as well as the downstream Trout Run.
