Record-book buck highlights opener during New York’s Southern Zone deer season

New York’s Southern Zone opening day featured favorable weather, if not a bit on the cold side, across most of the state, bringing plenty of hunters out for the state’s biggest hunting day of the year. 
For Jeremy Williams, of Tioga Center in Tioga County, it was the biggest hunting day of his life.  Williams got a second chance at a massive 12-point typical buck he’d missed while bowhunting last season.
