Well-known albino buck from Spooner, Wis., area found dead after nearly 15-year history

It was a dark, rainy morning when Washburn County Highway Commissioner Brian Danielsen called a homeowner at the intersection of county roads A and H in the Burnett County town of Scott.
“It’s the end of an era,” he said. “The King is dead. We found him this morning.”
For the past 14 or 15 years, the “King” has been a majestic albino white-tailed buck living in the area.
