Hunting the Pennsylvania woods in January is a stark contrast to October

Since Pennsylvania's flintlock season opened the day after Christmas, I’ve only been hunting for deer on three different occasions.
A bum right knee — a torn meniscus from a trip and fall on my home’s stairway — has limited my treks afield, at least with the ability to climb with a tree stand. The walking isn’t too bad, at least not enough to keep me home entirely.
