A bipartisan group of Michigan lawmakers want to allow schools to host firearm safety courses as a means to boost hunter participation and raise awareness about properly handling firearms.
House Bill 5334 and its companion in the upper chamber, Senate Bill 664, would amend the Revised School Code to allow schools the option of offering firearm safety instruction for students in grades six through 12.
