Three species of mussel in new USFWS recovery draft plan are found in Illinois

Three of the four mussel species targeted for recovery by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are found in Illinois.
Sheepnose mussels, snuffbox mussels, and Spectaclecase mussels are included in a plan drafted by USFWS to save imperiled mussels protected under the Endangered Species Act. The other species in the plan is the rayed bean mussel.
