As signup reopens for continuous CRP, Illinois ranks 11th with 814,233 acres

USDA announced recently that it would reopen enrollment for the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program. Additionally, producers already participating in CRP whose contracts expire this year may now apply to re-enroll. The process began on Jan. 12.
Illinois landowners enrolled in CRP received a total $172.7 million in payments under the program’s 2023 period.
