Call like you mean it to attract mid-season toms

There’s a reason you don’t see really good turkey callers shun mouth calls. While it’s possible to cover the turkey’s vocabulary with slates and box calls, the diaphragm call is the best option if you want to say something with some attitude.
This is often the difference between sitting out in the woods with your fingers crossed and actually working birds into range. It’s also something that doesn’t come naturally to most folks, because they don’t understand what they’re really saying to the birds.
