“Simplicity is hard. It’s easier to over-complicate things,” a British comedian once quipped. I’m not sure if he is a fisherman, but his quote fairly describes my and a lot of other anglers’ tactical approach on too many days.
Last spring, however, when I unexpectedly found a few hours to dip my kayak in Pennsylvania’s Conemaugh River on a sunny Saturday afternoon, there was no time for complication.
