Lake Mille Lacs guides, resorters in Minnesota feel effects of new walleye regulations

It’s been two months since the Minnesota DNR announced the 2024 walleye fishing regulations for Lake Mille Lacs. For the first time since 2020, the walleye season will begin with catch and release with no harvest until potentially the middle of August.
These changes have led some anglers to cancel trips to Mille Lacs or reschedule them for later in the year. Fishing guides and resort owners are witnessing the effects on their businesses.
