Wisconsin DNR balances multiple factors when setting 2024 elk quotas

The Natural Resources Board (NRB) heard confirmation that the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will issue harvest tags for four bull elk in the Black River Falls Central Elk Range this fall for the first time.
Each of those tags will go to state-licensed hunters. In addition, the DNR will have a quota of eight bulls in the Clam Lake Northern Elk Range, of which four tags will go to state -licensed hunters and four will go to Chippewa tribal hunters.
