In the March 22 issue of Wisconsin Outdoor News, Jim Johannes argued that wolves more likely than bears demonstrate the ability to suppress deer numbers. Johannes uses an apples to orange comparison by looking at buck harvest in Bayfield County to statewide estimates of bears and wolves.
If you instead look at buck harvest across all the northern forest and central forest, the picture changes.
