Commission allows expanded fracking on Ohio public lands

Published: , in Outdoor News

There may be fracking in Keen Wildlife Area in Harrison County, following action by the Ohio Oil and Gas Land Management Commission on May 20.

The commission approved an application by Texas-based Encino Acquisition Partners to drill on the 85-acre wildlife area. Encino must now go through the regular permitting process of the ODNR Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management. But approval of the application by the Texas company to drill on the wildlife area did not come without protests by the Save Ohio Parks group.
