Pennsylvania slated for biggest chunk of federal mine-reclamation funds

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Pennsylvania is slated to receive the lion’s share of federal funds aimed at cleaning up legacy coal-related pollution in a new round of allocations recently announced by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Of the $750 million earmarked for reclamation of abandoned mine fields in 22 states and the Navajo Nation, $244,786,476 has been set aside for Pennsylvania. The next largest single allocation, of 140,683,878, will be available to West Virginia.
