What can we learn from a buck’s antlers? Plenty, according to Nebraska research

Brian Peterson and a team of researchers at the University of Nebraska-Kearney have been studying white-tailed deer antlers for the past 15 years.
Peterson is the coordinator of the master of science biology program at the University of Nebraska-Kearney and he was a recent guest on the National Deer Association’s (NDA) Coffee and Deer podcast.
“It’s not just, ‘Wow, that buck scored 150,’ or whatever,” said Nick Pinizzotto, president and CEO of the NDA and a co-host of the Coffee and Deer podcast. “There’s a lot more that can be learned from antlers other than just its score.”
