Summer crappies aren’t the easiest fish to find. After the spawn, crappies tend to stay fairly close to the same areas and migrate to deeper water.
We’re not talking 18 feet or more, but depths of 8 to 12 feet. Crappies love some type of cover nearby and will be looking for emerging weedbeds, brush, rock piles, and shoreline docks that have food and shade.
