For the second straight year, weather caused a delay at the Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain tournament in New York, which took place Aug. 8-12 out of Plattsburgh.
When it was over, veteran angler Ed Loughran III, of Richmond, Va., had notched his first Elite Series win, edging out Canada’s Chris Johnston by 1 ounce to earn the $100,000 check and a blue trophy. It’s the only Elite Series event settled by a 1-ounce difference in total weight.
