Invasive spotted lanternfly making appearance in northeast Ohio

When Lake Metroparks Executive Director Paul Palagyi saw a particularly attractive flying “bug” recently, he instantly knew an invader had stormed the beaches of Lake County, Ohio.
What Palagyi encountered and captured while cheering on his daughter’s soccer team was a spotted lanternfly, a member of the clan that is a plant killer disguised in a stunning suit.
“I understand they’re being seen in Painesville and Kirtland,” Palagyi told Ohio Outdoor News.
