When I began hunting in the late 1970s, sporting licenses and carcass tags were printed on durable, cardboard-like waterproof paper. And what is today New York’s Hunting and Trapping Regulations Guide was back then a large, foldable map. There were, in fact, separate maps for big game and small game hunting, as well as for fishing. 
As the new self-printed sporting license era begins, it’s a reminder of how times certainly have changed.
