Deer bowhunt gets started earlier in Ohio’s disease area

Deer archery hunters are gearing up for the statewide opener on Saturday, Sept. 28, although a few northwest Ohio counties in the state got an earlier start on the bowhunt.
Hunters in Ohio have additional dates this season to pursue white-tailed deer in chronic wasting disease (CWD) surveillance areas, according to the Ohio DNR (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
