Ohio drought affects wildlife in various ways

Ohioans finally got a much-needed shot of rain during the week of Sept. 23, but most of the state has been under severe drought conditions for much of the summer and early fall.
The Ohio DNR (ODNR) Division of Water Resources is urging the public to use water resources wisely due to the dry conditions across Ohio. The division is working with partners to monitor the ongoing impacts of drought across the entire state. Drought conditions can have varying effects on wildlife, says Kyle Casey, a wildlife communications specialist for the Division of Wildlife.
