Wisconsin DNR seeks 2% ‘housekeeping’ hike in budget

The Wisconsin Natural Resources Board (NRB) received a glimpse of the new 2% increase for a “housekeeping” type of budget the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is requesting for 2025 through 2027.
The DNR submitted its budget request to the governor via the Department of Administration Sept. 16, and gave an overview to the board at its Sept. 25 meeting. Maggie Hutter, DNR budget director, said the budget does not include any new initiatives.
