Wisconsin study sheds new light on buck movement

Eight years ago, researchers began fitting roughly 800 wild Wisconsin deer with GPS collars to track movement. The Southwest Wisconsin Chronic Wasting Disease, Deer and Predator Study is the largest CWD analysis the state has ever undertaken, aiming to better understand how the animals live, move and die.
The vast library of data they gathered hasn’t even been fully published yet, but it already sheds new light on how bucks move during the rut, and more.
