Purdue University study aims to obtain better deer estimates in Indiana

Wildlife managers in states across the Midwest have long struggled to estimate populations of deer, turkeys, and coyotes.
A five-year study by Purdue University aims to help. The $1.6 million project is designed to develop better methods for monitoring wildlife and put more accurate numbers on each species.
