Reader stories: ‘Still-hunting’ at 80
Published: , in Outdoor News
The title to this story is a play on words, still-hunting is walking slowly, quietly through woods.
As I approach my 80th birthday, I continue to get out of bed at 5 a.m. to still-hunt, missing only one year because of my tour of duty overseas.
In my early years, it seemed the entire family hunted. My grandparents had 12 children. Between the uncles and brothers-in-law, there would be anywhere between 10 to 12 rabbit hunters at Grandpap’s in Pinecroft, Pa., the first weekend.
