The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has determined that a proactive approach and drawdown of Little Grassy Lake in southern Illinois is necessary to protect communities downstream.
Little Grassy Lake is a deep, clear, 1,000-acre impoundment located in the south portion of the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge between Marion and Carbondale in Williamson County.
