Lawsuit filed over ATV use in Pennsylvania’s state forests and parks
Published: , in Outdoor News
An environmental group has gone to court seeking a ban on all-terrain vehicles in Pennsylvania state forests and parks following the expansion of a trail system through the Northern Tier.
The non-profit Pennsylvania Environmental Defense Foundation filed suit Dec. 2 in Commonwealth Court against Gov. Josh Shapiro, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and DCNR Secretary Cindy Dunn, claiming that recreational use of ATVs in forests is unconstitutional and the plaintiffs have violated their duty to protect forests from their ecological impacts.
