Despite concerns, plan for Asian carp barrier on schedule in Minnesota

After the Legislature almost a year ago green-lit the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council-approved carp barrier at Lock and Dam 5 on the Mississippi River, the preparatory work continues behind the scenes.
Kelly Pennington, an invasive species unit supervisor for the Minnesota DNR, offered an update to the project during the LSOHC meeting on Friday, Jan. 3.
