Nearly a million chickens in Darke County, Ohio, tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), commonly known as bird flu, the National Veterinary Services Laboratory confirmed Dec. 30.
The facility or facilities that house the chickens weren’t identified because it’s an ongoing case, officials said, according to a report from Spectrum News.
