Variety awaits anglers on Oakland’s Pontiac Lake

A few decades ago local anglers considered it a waste of time to even consider fishing on Oakland County’s Pontiac Lake.
After a dam repair project in the 1980s went awry, the entire fish population in Pontiac Lake was wiped out. New fish including bluegill, bass, pike, and crappie were stocked in the 1980s, but it took years and some tweaking by fisheries managers to get the fishery in this 585-acre lake back up to par.
