ASMFC looking ahead following December striped bass meeting

Published: , in Outdoor News

As coverage in the Jan. 10 edition of New York Outdoor News reported, The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Atlantic Striped Bass Management Board met on Dec. 16 to decide whether to reduce 2025 striped bass landings and provide additional protection for the 2018 striped bass year class, the last strong year class produced by the striped bass stock.
After more than three hours of discussions, it decided to leave 2025 management measures unchanged, and to instead initiate a new addendum to the ASMFC’s striped bass management plan, which might include new restrictions for the 2026 season.
