Well, now I’ve seen it all … an outdoor writer defending invasive plants. Boy, does Tom Venesky’s recent column miss the mark on invasive plants as wildlife habitat. The answer from any outdoor writer worth his salt should not only be “no,” but “hell no!”
Venesky provides anecdotal information about some of his favorite hunting spots being “better” because of multiflora rose or autumn olive thickets but totally ignores the fact there are thousands of acres of habitat that are impenetrable because of these plants.
