Streams of Thought: Minnesota’s Howling for Wolves ‘pauses’ activities; and DNR names new region fisheries manager

A recent tip from a reader – thanks, Mike – led me to a news release from the Minnesota organization, Howling for Wolves. Most folks who read this publication probably recognize that group’s name.
For several years, stories related to wolves and wolf hunting have often included quotes from the group’s leader, Dr. Maureen Hackett, as a means of demonstrating what, exactly, proponents of state wolf management – and hunting – are fighting against. But no more, as far as HFW is concerned. The Feb. 9 release from the group says it’s “pausing” its activities.
