Steve Sarley: Getting a fishing education isn’t quite the process it once was

Someone recently asked me how I got into the fishing media business. Funny story, I think.
It was in the latter years of the past century. Sounds incredibly historic, doesn’t it. I had always enjoyed fishing as a pastime. When I wasn’t actually fishing, I enjoyed reading about the sport. My bedroom night table and the rack in my bathroom were piled high with fishing magazines. I contacted a small regional fishing newspaper about the possibility of my writing an article for them.
