The gold and green army was on the march.
Their recognizance teams –  all male lightweights – had been spotted and intercepted two days before. Since then, the opposition’s sonar had been kept on high alert – its gain turned up for the slightest approaching signal. Then, on the third day, about 10 a.m., under bright sunny skies and 4 inches of ice, the army’s main force was revealed. My flasher unit lit up like a fireballing volcano.
