Minnesota bill would provide cheaper fishing opportunities for older anglers

On Thursday, Feb 20, the House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee forwarded two bills that would modify fishing licenses prices for people 65 and older.
H.F. 276 and H.F. 411, respectively authored by Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, and Rep. Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, were received by the committee moderately well, with minimal discussion on them. However, even though DNR officials say they support the sentiment of the bills, the fiscal bottom line is a bit more challenging to get behind.
