Wisconsin’s Winnebago sturgeon season closes with some big fish registered

The Winnebago system sturgeon spearing season closed after running the full length of the season with some space left on the harvest caps.
On the last day, Lake Winnebago gave up seven juvenile females, 16 adult females and 24 males, with Scott Sheppard registering the last largest fish, a 126.6-pound, 73-inch, F2 female. On the upriver lakes, two juvenile females, one adult female, and eight males were harvested.
