The Illinois Trappers Association held its annual fur sale in Strasburg on Feb. 15.
Raccoons, an Illinois staple, have seen record low prices over the last few years. Well over 250,000 raccoons were trapped in the Midwest alone in 2012. That number this year, nationwide, is likely to be under 50,000.
